As the population ages and lives longer, the incidence of neurological disease expands, increasing to as many as one out of two people facing the prospect of losing independence, productivity and quality of life to a brain or nervous system malfunction.
Committed to building an in-depth understanding of nervous system function and disease, the SINTN supports collaboration at the interface between disciplines where increasingly today's revolutionary advances are taking place. To this end, the institute oversees a number of interdisciplinary Working Groups designed to address the challenges of specific neurological and psychiatric disorders.
