Building industry partnerships
The process of developing new medications and devices usually starts in a laboratory, far from the patient bedside. New ideas and discoveries are tested and retested in the lab as animal studies and then as clinical trials before they can be launched as new treatments. Eventually the best concepts make the crucial transition to the private sector, where licensed by companies, they can be made available to the greatest number of patients.
As proven innovators, leaders and advisors in the healthcare industry, SINTN faculty members facilitate this process of discovery and innovation by maintaining productive ties with leaders in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. As part of this effort, SINTN members work with industry partners to foster ongoing discussions with patients, clinicians and neuroscientists from around the globe to define critical gaps in neuroscientific understanding and patient care.
