Empowering patients and comminity doctors
The NIS Outreach effort is an attempt to talk to the community about neurological disorders with the belief that knowledge presented clearly and honestly will reduce fear and encourage healthy, sometimes life-saving, behavior. For the past year we have focused our efforts on Stroke Awareness, but are now developing talks on Pain management, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Our hope is that these presentations will go beyond education to encourage public interest and participation in the NIS efforts to organize and set priorities. We view this outreach as a wonderful opportunity to educate the public about the research and clinical resources at Stanford. Read more about Empowering patients and community doctors.
