The program provides $100,000 grants for translational projects in medical devices, diagnostics, mobile health and biotechnology with desirable outcomes including commercial products, licenses and start-up companies. Project team membership uniquely requires a faculty from both Bioengineering and a clinician from SOM – another excellent example of Stanford promoting interdisciplinary research. We are happy to assist with connecting investigators.
Historically, the thorough proposal screening process and expert mentors has led to enormous success in identifying and supporting projects that have achieved significant clinical and commercial success. In fact, since inception, over 70 projects have been funded, resulting in 28 companies formed, 5 licenses, and hundreds of millions in follow on funding.
The grant period is for one year and again, the submission deadline of February 16th, 2018.
Further submission details can be found on the Bioengineering website, https://bioengineering.stanford.edu/research/affiliate-programs/stanford-coulter-translational-research-grants, or through the Biodesign Program, 725-8227, Linda Lucian, email@example.com.
