Research topics: Our research seeks to advance our understanding of cerebrovascular disease and to develop new minimally invasive treatments for these diseases.
Techniques: We study ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, delayed cerebral ischemia, cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), dural arteriovenous fistulae, and other vascular diseases of the brain. We use state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques to non-invasively study these diseases, and we are developing future endovascular technologies to advance neurointerventional surgery.
Seeking undergrads for: Academic year, Summer
Required skills: Motivation, independence, and initiative. Nunchuck a plus. We are a busy and ambitious lab, and we are interested in students with a strong draw to basic and translational medicine. Resourcefulness, independence (with appropriate supervision) and excellent problem solving skills are essential. Self-motivation and initiative are also necessary.
This lab is particularly interested in mentoring: Undergrads from backgrounds that are underrepresented in STEM, Undergrads without previous exposure to laboratory research, Undergraduates interested in medical school and/or careers as physician scientists
