Research topics: We want to develop treatments for brain injury associated with premature birth.
Techniques: We use stem cell derived human brain cells, microscopy, RNA sequencing and metabolomics.

Required skills: Programming experience - we would like to develop automatic quantification assays for our cells ( cell death, change in morphology etc)
This lab is particularly interested in mentoring: undergrads with expertise in programming

Project information: We have different projects focused on understanding the effect of low oxygen (hypoxia) on the development of the brain in babies born very premature (at less than 28 weeks of pregnancy, when a normal pregnancy is 40 weeks). We want to find treatments for the brain injury, and see if we need different drugs to save different cell types.
