Research topics: Our goal is to apply artificial intelligence (AI) methods to medical data to advance discovery and clinical care in neuroscience.
Techniques: We have applied a variety of machine learning methods (e.g., deep learning, weak learning, and a new paradigm we call "observational learning") to tap into the vast amount of neuroscience data available, both at the microscopic level (measurement/assessment of dendritic spines to discover the biological basis for learning) and clinical level (computerized analysis of EEGs and video to automatically detect seizures; analyzing Reddit postings to identify individuals at risk for suicide)
