Subject: NIH Guidance for Foreign Components and Other Foreign Interactions

In an effort to clarify the NIH policies outlined in their recent Notice - Reminders of NIH Policies on Other Support and Policies related to Financial Conflicts of Interest and Foreign Components, the School of Medicine has prepared additional guidance for NIH/PHS investigators on the requirements. This advisory information is intended to guide NIH and PHS investigators at Stanford on what, when, and where activities outside of the U.S. must be disclosed to Stanford and also to NIH/PHS. This guidance explains three requirements for: (1) Foreign Component, (2) Other Support, and (3) Conflicts of Interest and Commitment.

You can find this guidance on the Research Management Group (RMG) website at https://med.stanford.edu/rmg/resources/foreign-component-guidance.html
