Individual and time-varying mechanisms of decision-making - Ilana Witten

Abstract

How do the neural circuit mechanisms of learning and decision-making depend on an individual's behavioral strategy? In the first half of my talk, I will describe individual differences in the relationship between dopaminergic signals and behavioral response to chronic social stress, and how that may relate to individual differences in susceptibility and resilience. In the second half of my talk, I will discuss the role of endogenous activity in the direct and indirect pathway in decision-making, and the relationship with an individual's time-varying cognitive strategy.
