Symbolic Systems major
Stanford University

Hi! My name is Amrita, and I'm a sophomore from Moraga, CA. I'm majoring in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Neuroscience, as well as minoring in Music. I first became interested in neuroscience after personal experiences with a neurological disorder at a young age, and in the future, I hope to pursue graduate education in neuroscience and study the neurological bases of sleep, dreaming, and consciousness. I'm excited to continue research in the Gibson Lab this summer to explore the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and circadian rhythms. Outside of academics, I'm involved with the Stanford Undergraduate Neuroscience Society and Stanford's Basmati Raas dance team, and in my free time, I enjoy playing piano, watching TV shows and movies, photography, and baking.
