Seminar Series at the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute

The Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute hosts several seminar series that are free and open to all Stanford affiliates, fostering a vibrant community of cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation. These seminars are significant because they bring together leading scientists, researchers, and students from diverse fields to share the latest discoveries and insights in neuroscience. By providing platforms for open dialogue and knowledge exchange, we advance our mission to deepen the understanding of the brain and promote brain health throughout the lifespan.

Our seminar offerings currently include four distinct series, each catering to different interests within the neuroscience community:

  • Neurosciences Seminar Series: Our flagship program held every Thursday at noon, this series brings together the Stanford neuroscience community to explore a wide range of topics—from molecular and cellular neuroscience to cognitive and computational approaches.
  • Brain Resilience Seminar Series: Part of the Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience, this “lab meeting-style” seminar focuses on emerging research in brain aging and resilience. Held on the first Monday of every month, it provides a forum for discussing nascent concepts and unpublished data. This series is perfect for those interested in the latest developments in brain health and longevity.
  • Mind, Brain, Computation, and Technology (MBCT) Seminar Series: This series explores how computational and technical approaches are advancing neuroscience. Featuring speakers who discuss experimental, theoretical, and computational frameworks, it’s suited for individuals interested in the intersection of neuroscience with computation and technology.
  • Neurofeedback Lunch Series: A postdoc-led initiative, this series promotes interactions between labs within the Institute. It’s a platform where trainees share ongoing work and practice effective science communication. If you’re looking to engage with peers, learn about in-house research, and enhance your presentation skills, this series offers a collaborative environment.
