The Koret Human Neurosciences Community Lab at the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute invites the Stanford research community to submit applications for our Human Neuroscience Pilot Grant program.

The goal of the grant program is to encourage investigators of all levels to explore the possibilities of EEG and/or TMS for their research, whether this is your first time using these technologies or you are an experienced researcher who wishes to pilot novel techniques or gather preliminary data for a new research direction.

We encourage applications from junior faculty or established investigators who wish to apply EEG and/or TMS to enhance their research. Postdocs and PhD students are welcome to apply with their PI as the submitter.

We are granting awards of up to $10,000 to be used exclusively for Koret HNCL services. Fully-funded awards are to be used within one calendar year. Partially funded projects will be supported for 6 months, with the option to extend funding as a returning applicant at the end of this time period.

For new applicants or re-submissions based on previous feedback: Please contact Milena Kaestner at milenak@stanford.edu to discuss your project ideas before submitting an application. The application form is available for download below, along with an information packet that will provide more details and instructions for how to fill out the application form. If you are making a re-submission based on feedback from a previous funding round, you may submit an edited version of your previous submission.

For previous awardees requesting an extension: If you are applying to extend your project, you do not need to fill out a new application. Instead, please submit up to two pages summarizing how you have used your funds from a prior Human Neuro Pilot Grant, what your progress has been including challenges you may have faced, and how you plan to use the extension. This summary can be submitted through the portal on this page. Feel free to contact Milena Kaestner at milenak@stanford.edu for more information.
