Hongfei Ji is a Postdoctoral Scholar in Professor Miriam Goodman's laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology. His research focuses on understanding how neural circuits detect external cues, generate behavior, and adapt to different environments, using the microscopic roundworm C. elegans as a model organism. Additionally, he develops innovative optical and computational techniques for imaging and analyzing C. elegans and other systems. Hongfei received a Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was mentored by Professor Christopher Fang-Yen and addressed challenging questions concerning the neural mechanisms that underlie animal movement in both typical and pathological contexts.
