Behavioral and Functional Neuroscience Laboratory

The Stanford Behavioral and Functional Neuroscience Laboratory (SBFNL) is a preclinical discovery platform providing expertise in all aspects related to the design and implementation of behavioral experiments as well as data analysis and interpretation.

Our mission is to serve the community and provide quality services through collaborative interactions and consultations.

Our center/core is fully equipped to accommodate a full battery of behavioral tests.

We specialize in genetic and pharmacological phenotyping in both mouse and rat. In addition, we have the ability to provide more detailed target validation in in vivo and in vitro models of CNS disease.

We have extensive expertise focusing on disease models as well as an array of acute and chronic experimental models of neurodegenerative disorders.

We provide screening and profiling of experimental therapeutics in the above mentioned models followed by behavioral and pathological evaluations.

Our clients include:

  1. Stanford undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty
  2. Academic labs from other universities and non-profit organizations
  3. Bio-tech and pharmaceutical industry clients (limited relationships)
