"A woman paralysed by Lou Gehrig's disease uses her thoughts to move a cursor on an Android tablet, and types messages at about half the speed of a texting teenager" says Jaimie Henderson of Stanford University. He explains the progress being made in deciphering the workings of the brain to enable patients with paralysis to reconnect with their loved ones.
