Math, Monkeys, Machines

A seminar series on theoretical, computational, and systems neuroscience

Each seminar will feature three short presentations by postdocs and grad students from several groups including the Boahen, Moore, Shenoy, Newsome and Ganguli labs. These talks will therefore cover a broad range of topics in mathematical theory of the brain and mind, robotics, neuroengineering, and primate neurophysiology. With this series we aim to establish links across these domains and spark collaborations between the participants. The presentations will be accessible to anyone interested in computational neuroscience, and all are welcome to attend.

Presentation Program for 4/21/15

Friedemann Zenke (Ganguli Lab): Hebbian and non-Hebbian plasticity orchestrated to form and retrieve memories in spiking networks   Dan O’Shea (Shenoy Lab): Motor cortex implements a goal-dependent feedback control policy   Ashok Cutkosky (Boahen Lab): Memory structures for computing with neurons   REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED !!
