Jamie Kwon

Department of Human Biology ('29)

Jamie Kwon (‘29) is a prospective Human Biology major with a minor in Symbolic Systems.

Joining the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute as a NeURO Fellow, Jamie will study the enteric nervous system (ENS), often described as the “second brain,” for its vast network of approximately 500 million neurons that form an independent neural system within the gut. Through wholemount dissection and machine learning analysis, Jamie will explore how microbes regulate enteric neuronal function in the lab of Dr. Michael Howitt.

In her free time, Jamie enjoys hiking, stargazing, journaling, and spending time with friends and family.
