Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Interdisciplinary Scholar
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Department of Chemistry

Erin grew up in East Tennessee.  She received her B.S. in chemistry from Furman University, where she conducted undergraduate research with Professor Brian Goess.  After graduating in 2011, she moved to New Jersey to pursue her Ph.D. at Princeton University and joined the laboratory of Professor Abigail Doyle.  While at Princeton, Erin demonstrated the effectiveness of a new air-stable nickel(II) precatalyst and developed a mild, copper-catalyzed method to incorporate fluorine into organic molecules.  She began as a postdoctoral researcher in the Du Bois laboratory in January 2017 to develop chemical tools to examine the role of ion channels in neurobiology.
