Neurosciences Postdoctoral Scholar
Brain Resilience Track
Department of Bioengineering
Emmy studies the mechanisms behind neuro-immune interactions in neurodegenerative disease as a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Professor Stanley Qi. She completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) under the mentorship of Dr. Martin Kampmann. At UCSF, she applied CRISPRi-based functional genomics to understand pathways behind selective vulnerability in neurons. At Stanford, she is studying how T cell-Microglia interactions can drive pathological functions and how to correct that using novel CRISPR-Cas13 based tools.
