Department of Chemical Engineering
Eric Zhao is a chemist and neuroengineer interested in developing novel tools and materials that seamlessly interface with the nervous system. As a postdoctoral fellow in the labs of Professor Zhenan Bao in Chemical Engineering and Professor Julia Kaltschmidt in the Department of Neurosurgery, he is designing stretchable and adhesive electrode arrays to study neural dynamics in the gastrointestinal tract.
Previously, his doctoral work at Stanford University with Professor Nicholas Melosh was focused on highly scalable and flexible neural electrodes for interfacing with the central and peripheral nervous systems.
