Robert is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering in Professor Jonathan Fan's group. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Robert previously worked on developing machine learning algorithms to design atomic silicon quantum dot circuits and accelerate the design process of nanophotonic devices. He is interested in building neural probe hardware and data-driven software solutions for new modalities of multielectrode, subthreshold stimulation to achieve the activation of neurons at the cellular level. His goal is to develop technology that advances the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and provides effective treatments.
