Andrew Lampinen
Psychology
transfer, generalization, meta-learning
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology at Stanford University. I am in the cognitive area, and am advised by Professor Jay McClelland. My background is in mathematics, physics, and machine learning. I am interested in knowledge transfer and abstraction, particularly within the context of multi-task learning and meta-learning in machine learning, and high-level human mathematical abilities such as proof. I investigate these questions from perspectives ranging from experiments on teaching people math concepts, to developing machine learning techniques and theoretical understandings of generalization.
