Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Scholar
Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology
PhD, Physics - UC Berkeley

Jeremy Axelrod is a postdoctoral scholar in Professor Steven Chu’s lab, where he is developing new high-resolution optical microscopy techniques to determine the biophysical mechanisms driving axonal transport and how these mechanisms are linked to neurodegenerative diseases. Jeremy received his PhD in physics at the University of California, Berkeley in Professor Holger Mueller’s lab, where he developed a method to dramatically increase the contrast of transmission electron microscope images using record-high intensity laser light to manipulate the microscope’s electron beam.
