Shon Alimukhamedov
Shon Alimukhamedov supports the initiative’s flagship projects focusing on developing a comprehensive molecular map of human brain aging using both bulk and single-cell RNA-seq approaches. He also oversees numerous collaborations by providing expertise in next-generation sequencing, histology, and spatial transcriptomics techniques.
Shon’s independent project aims to characterize the transcriptomics changes associated with lipid droplet accumulation in the human brain using a combination of histological techniques and spatial transcriptomics.
Prior to joining the Knight Initiative, Shon received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a specialization in Genetics from the University of Arizona. During his undergraduate years, he studied the interactions between Ras and mTORC2 and their roles in chemotaxis.
