Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute is invested in sparking new collaborations between neuroscience researchers from across the university and invite applications for seed grants to fund innovative, collaborative research projects in the neurosciences. We seek focused, intense collaborations between 2-3 faculty members piloting a novel idea.
Seed grant research projects should involve at least two independent co-PI's who combine their expertise in an innovative fashion to address important problems in basic and clinical neuroscience. The Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute encourages applications from teams forming unique connections between neuroscience and other bastions of disciplinary strength at Stanford: (1) Engineering and the quantitative sciences, (2) chemical and molecular biology, and (3) the social sciences, humanities and professional schools of education, law and business.
Applicants must demonstrate clearly how this funding mechanism would allow the project to move forward.
Seed Grant competitions occur every two years. Awards of $300,000 each ($150,000/year for 2 years) are awarded to up to 5 research teams.
